Post Women’s Lacrosse Falls To Southern New Hampshire

Polaski Leads The Way With Three Goals

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Post University women's lacrosse team lost its second game of the season on Tuesday afternoon to Southern New Hampshire, 23-7. Junior Miranda Polaski (Agawam, Mass.) led the Eagles with three goals on the day.
 
Polaski had a well-rounded game, scoring on all three shots she took, while adding five ground balls, a caused turnover, and two draw controls. Senior Morgan Kanavy (Syracuse, N.Y.) also added two scores, one on a free-position attempt.
 
Southern New Hampshire jumped out in front 6-0 over the first 10 minutes of the game. Five different Penman scored a goal during the stretch. Polaski finally got the Eagles on the board with 18:11 left in the half. Kanavy scored her first six minutes later to cut the deficit to 7-2.
 
After three more Penman goals, sophomore Isatu Bangura-Jalloh (Elmont, N.Y.) stopped the run with a goal with 3:07 remaining in the first. Freshman Shannon Young (Centereach, N.Y.) tacked another one on just 21 seconds later as the Eagles trailed 11-4 at the break.
 
Senior Meghan Diggett (East Islip, N.Y.) won the open draw of the second half. After a foul on Southern New Hampshire, Polaski found the back of the net for the second time on the day. Kanavy scored with 26:08 remaining to stop a three-goal Penman run and make the score 14-6.  Polaski added a late score for the final margin.
 
Post for 8-for-12 on clear attempts on the afternoon and picked up 15 ground balls. Senior Kathy Walker (Dorchester, Mass.) made 17 saves and had four ground balls.
 
The Eagles host Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Nyack on Thursday, March 13 in their home opener at LaMoy Field. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
