Men’s Lacrosse Defeated At Franklin Pierce, 11-5

Eagles Fall To 3-4 On The Year

RINDGE, N.H. – The Post University men's lacrosse team lost its third straight game on Tuesday afternoon at Franklin Pierce, 11-5. Freshman Kyle Shannon (Stanhope, N.J.) scored twice on the day for the Eagles. He's second on the team with 15 goals this year.
 
Franklin Pierce led from start to finish and jumped in front early with four goals in the first quarter. The Ravens outshot the Eagles 13-7 in the period.
 
Freshman Joe Greene (Rochester, N.Y.) picked up one of his four ground balls on the day after a shot by junior Brian Beatson (Fairfax, Va.) and beat the keep for the Eagles' first score with 10:11 left in the second quarter. After a slashing penalty on the Ravens, Shannon scored his first of the day to cut the deficit to 6-2 just under 10 minutes before the half.
 
The teams traded goals in the third, freshman Alex Brownlee (Syracuse, N.Y.) scored his team-high 16th of the year of an assist from junior Andrew Supanich (Jackson, Va.). Freshman Tim Wright (Waterloo, N.Y.) found Shannon with 1:59 remaining in the quarter for his second goal which made the score 8-4 after three.
 
Supanich added the final Eagles' goal 4:40 left off a pass from Wright to make the score 9-5.
 
Post won eight face-offs and was 20-for-27 on clear attempts. The Eagles were 2-for-6 on extra-man opportunities and have scored with a man advantage in every game this season.
 
The Eagles return home on Wednesday, March 19 against Dominican. Face-off is set for 4 p.m. at LaMoy Field.
