Eagles Dismantle Nyack In Record-Breaking Performance

Meghan Diggett Becomes School’s All-Time Leading Goal-Scorer

Box Score

WATERBURY, Conn. – Junior Meghan Diggett (East Islip, N.Y.) scored eight goals on Tuesday in a 20-2 victory over Nyack to become the leading goal-scorer in Post University women's lacrosse history. She now sits with 67 career goals eight in front of Mallorie Michalak's previous record of 59.

The Eagles' 20 goals broke their previous record of 19 which was achieved twice, once this season in a 19-10 victory over Nyack on March 26. The other came in a 19-9 win over St. Joseph on March 9, 2012.

Post shutout the Warriors in the first half and went into the break ahead 11-0. The Eagles offense didn't slow down in the second half as they outscored Nyack 9-2.

Diggett led all scorers with eight goals on the afternoon and also added an assist and six draw controls. Freshman Jordyn Woltmann (Lake Grove, N.Y.) found the back of the net a career-high six times to go with five ground balls.

Sophomores Eryka Baez (Clifton, N.J.) and Miranda Polaski (Agawam, Mass.) each added two scores. Polaski also chipped in four assists and now leads the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) with 20 on the season.

Freshman Jessica Lavelle (Thurmont, Md.) scored the first goal of her young career. Sophomore Kathy Walker (Dorchester, Mass.) saved 12 shots in her second victory of the season in goal.

Post looks to keep the momentum going at Dominican on Thursday, April 11. Opening draw is scheduled for 4 p.m.
