WATERBURY, Conn. – Senior
Patricia Urena (Methuen, Mass.) scored her second goal of the season in her final game, but the Post University women's lacrosse team fell to Wilmington, 20-10, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles finish the season at a record of 2-13 overall and 2-8 in conference play, their most wins in program history.
Junior
Meghan Diggett (East Islip, N.Y.) led Post with five goals on the day and had four draw controls. Sophomore
Miranda Polaski (Agawam, Mass.) scored four goals and assisted on another. She controlled eight draws and picked up five ground balls. Sophomore
Brina Yanez (West Haven, Conn.) and freshman
Jessica Lavelle (Thurmont, Md.) each grabbed three ground balls.
Urena put the Eagles on the board early with a score on a free-position attempt at 29:04. After a score by the Wildcats, Polaski and Diggett scored consecutive goals to put Post ahead 3-1 with 19:15 remaining in the first half.
Wilmington took the lead with four straight goals to pull ahead 5-3. Sophomore
Eryka Baez (Clifton, N.J.) intercepted a pass by Liz Case near the goal to start an offensive rush for the Eagles. Diggett found the back of the net at 11:02 to cut the deficit to 5-4. Polaski found Diggett late in the half for a man-down score, but the Eagles trailed 9-5 at the break.
The Wildcats scored four straight to begin the second and take control of the game. Polaski grabbed a draw control and took the ball to the goal without any help to make the score 15-8 at the 18:34 mark. She caused a turnover at 13:45 and found the back of the net for her fourth goal. Lavelle forced a turnover with just over a minute left in the game and found Diggett for a late score.
Polaski finished the season with 70 points, 26 assists, and 57 ground balls, all single-season records. She also led the Eagles with 44 goals, the second-most in season in school history. Diggett scored 44 goals on the season. Sophomore
Kathy Walker (Dorchester, Mass.) finished with 167 saves, the second-most in a single season.

Brianna Docimo (Shrewsbury, Mass.),
Morgan Kanavy (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Urena were all honored before their final game.
