Polaski Scores Twice As Eagles Fall At Dominican

Polaski Records Her Ninth Multi-Goal Game Of The Season

Box Score

HILLBURN, N.Y. – Sophomore Miranda Polaski (Agawam, Mass.) was a part of every goal on Thursday afternoon as the Post University women's lacrosse team was defeated at Dominican, 20-4, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.

Polaski recorded her ninth multi-goal game of the season with two scores on the day. She also had two assists to push her conference-leading total up to 22 on the season and picked up six ground balls. Freshman Jordyn Woltmann (Lake Grove, N.Y.) scored a goal, her seventh-consecutive game with a score, and an assist. Junior Meghan Diggett (East Islip, N.Y.) chipped in the other Eagles' goal.

Post kept with the Chargers throughout most of the first half. Dominican jumped on top early with three goals in the first six minutes to take a 3-0 lead. The Eagles cleared the ball out of the defensive zone after a save by sophomore Kathy Walker (Dorchester, Mass.) at 22:50. Polaski put Post on the board as she found the back of the net with 22:12 remaining in the period.

Diggett's shot at 13:32 was saved and sophomore Eryka Baez (Clifton, N.J.) picked up the ground ball and found Polaski. The junior quickly passed to Woltmann to cut the deficit to 4-2. Woltmann returned the favor minutes later as she found Polaski to pull the Eagles within one with 10:50 left in the half.

The Chargers pulled away from there, scoring 11 straight goals before Diggett ended the drought with 9:46 remaining. Walker, who came into the game ranked fourth nationally with 126 saves this season, added 16 stops in defeat.

The Eagles are back at home on Sunday, April 14 against Holy Family. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
