WATERBURY, Conn. – Despite going out to an early 3-0 lead, the Post University women's lacrosse team was defeated by in-state rival Bridgeport on Tuesday afternoon at LaMoy Field. Sophomore
Miranda Polaski (Agawam, Mass.) led the Eagles with four goals on the day.

Morgan Kanavy (Syracuse, N.Y.) each added a goal. Senior
Patricia Urena (Methuen, Mass.) and sophomore
Eryka Baez (Clifton, N.J.) both recorded an assist. Sophomore
Kathy Walker (Dorchester, Mass.) had eight saves on the day.
The Eagles started the scoring early as Kanavy found the back of the net at the 26:28 mark of the first. Polaski scored minutes later to put Post ahead 2-0 with 23:18 remaining in the half.
Kanavy had a chance to put the Eagles ahead by three goals, but Marissa Gambardella made a save to keep the score 2-0. Polaska put Post in front 3-0 with a score from close range at 8:44. The Purple Knights got on the board at the 7:51 mark of the first.
Three Bridgeport goals within a 34 second span put them ahead 4-3 with 4:12 remaining in the half and forced a timeout by the Eagles. The Purple Knights tacked on two more before the break.
Diggett closed the deficit to 6-4 early in the second half with a goal at 23:03. Bridgeport opened the score up to 8-4 with goals by Shealyn Scully and Gabrielle Valela. Polaski scored two more goals in the final 4:32.
The Eagles will be back in action at home on Wednesday, March 13 against American International. Opening draw is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
