WATERBURY, Conn. – Coming off its biggest victory in school history, the Post University men's soccer team closes out its regular season with two games this week against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponents. The Eagles host Bloomfield on Oct. 29 at 3 p.m. in their final home game and head to Nyack on Nov. 1 in the season finale. Post clinches its third consecutive CACC Regular Season Championship with a victory or tie in either game.

Senior
Joe Baccielo (Stratford, Conn.) scored in the 87
th minute to lead the No. 15 Post University men's soccer team over No. 1 LIU-Post, 1-0, at LaMoy Field on Oct. 23. It is the first time any team at Post has defeated the top-ranked team in the country. Baccielo received the ball at midfield with two defenders in front of him. He dribbled by one Pioneers defender and kicked it passed the other. The senior got the ball on the other side and launched it to the lower right side just past Pioneers goalkeeper Marco Jorgensen for game-winning score.
Lindsay came up big in the second-half with six of his season-high eight saves en route to his eighth shutout of the year. His biggest stop came in the 81
st minute as the nation's leading scorer, Eivind Austboe, took a shot to the left side of the goal. Lindsay dove far to the left side and knocked it away.
Post has now defeated two top-10 teams this season as it opened the year with a 1-0 victory over No. 7 Southern New Hampshire. The Eagles boast the third-ranked defense in the country. It was the first time the Pioneers' top-ranked offense has been shutout in the regular season since 2011.
Scouting the Deacons
Bloomfield comes into the week with a record of 5-10-1 overall and 5-5 in conference play. The Deacons have won three straight games and are currently tied for the final spot in the CACC Tournament. Bloomfield is led by Claude Allen who is ninth in the conference with six goals, including three game-winning scores.

Post is 6-4-2 all-time against the Deacons and is unbeaten in the last two meetings. Last season the two played to a 0-0 tie. The Eagles are 5-2-1 at home against Bloomfield.

Scouting the Warriors
Nyack currently sits in sixth in the CACC with a record of 5-4-1 and 8-6-2 overall. The Warriors are unbeaten in their last five games and posted three shutouts during the stretch. They are third in the conference with 224 shots and 88 corner kicks. Maxi Fuchs leads the team with four goals and nine points on the year. Goalkeeper Tom Lohman is tied for the second in the conference with six shutouts.
All-Time Series vs. Nyack
The Eagles are 4-7-3 against the Warriors since 2002, but defeated Nyack 3-0 last season. Post has not won on the road since 2008.

Close To Clinching Title
Post is close to clinching its third-consecutive CACC Regular Season Championship. The Eagles are currently in first place with 27 points, five points ahead of Philadelphia and Dominican, with two conference games remaining. Since Post holds the tiebreaker over both, the Eagles need a win or tie in either of their final two CACC games to claim the title. Post has already clinch a home game to begin the CACC Tournament.
Clean Sheets For Lindsay
Senior goalkeeper Andre Lindsey (Clarendon, Jamaica) has allowed just five goals this season and recorded shutouts in eight of Post's victories and shared a shutout against Felician. He leads the conference in goals against average (0.37), shutouts (7), and save percentage (.884). Lindsay is third in the nation in save percentage and second in goals against average.
Creating Chances
Post has outshot its opponents 195-114 this season. The Eagles held a 13-5 advantage last time out against Georgian Court. Post does most of its damage in the first half as it holds an 86-43 shot advantage in the opening period this year.
Defending The Prize
The Eagles have one of the top defenses in the country. Post leads the nation in save percentage at 0.902 and goals against average at 0.34. Post has allowed just five goals all season and are ranked second shutout percentage (0.64) with nine on the year.
Jumping Into The National Spotlight
The Eagles are currently ranked No. 15 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll released on Oct. 22. It is the highest ranking for any team in school history. It marks the fifth week this season Post is ranked in the Top 25. The Eagles have been regionally ranked in the top four all season.

Post has had multiple members of the team honored by the conference this season. Most recently,
Joe Baccielo and
Andre Lindsay were named Co-Player and Defense Player of the Week, respectively, on Oct. 28. On Sept. 9,
Raphael Moura was selected as Co-Player of the Week and
Lindsay was tabbed as Defensive Player of the Week. Lindsay was also named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 9.
Francisco Sastre was named conference player of the week on Oct. 7. Terrell Whtting was named to the Honor Roll on Oct 20.
Home Sweet Home
Post is unbeaten in 26 of its last 27 home games. The Eagles are 22-1-4, have outscored opponents 62-13 and posted ten shutouts over the stretch. The lone defeat during the stretch came against Chestnut Hill on Sept. 15. Post is also unbeaten in 20 of its last 21 regular season conference games.
Baccielo Breaks Scoring Record

Joe Baccielo scored three goals on Oct. 8 against Felician to surpass Maurice Johnson to become the all-time leading point-scorer in Post men's soccer history. He now stands at 77 career points. Eagles Against Nationally Ranked Opponents
Post is 2-0 against NSCAA Top 10 teams this season. The Eagles defeated No. 7 Southern New Hampshire 1-0 on Sept. 5 to open the season. Post was victorious on Oct. 23 against No. 1 LIU-Post 1-0. They are the first two wins the Eagles have ever had against ranked opponents.

Raphael Moura (Danbury, Conn.) received CACC Rookie of the Year and head coach
Ted Haley was honored as conference coach of the year. Additionally, the team received the NSCAA Team Academic Award and placed three on the CACC All-Academic Team.
Tough Slate Ahead
The Eagles will play a 16-match schedule that features matchups with five of the top eight teams in the East Region in 2012 and three NCAA Tournament participants. Post opens the season on the road against Southern New Hampshire on Sept. 5. On Sept. 25, Post plays Dominican on the road in a rematch of the 2012 CACC Championship game. LIU-Post makes its first-ever appearance at LaMoy Field on Oct. 23. The Pioneers were ranked No. 1 in the NSCAA Poll after beginning the 2012 season 12-0-0.
Preseason Prognostications
The Post men's soccer team was tabbed to finish first in the CACC in the Preseason Poll released on Aug. 20. The Eagles received seven first-place votes and 157 points as voted on by the league's 13 head coaches.
On The Horizon
The post-season begins on Monday, Nov. 4 with the first round of the CACC Tournament. The Eagles have clinched a home game to open the tournament. The semi-finals and finals will be played at Wilmington University on Wednesday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 9.
