WATERBURY, Conn. – Junior midfielder
Morgan Kanavy (Syracuse, N.Y.) scored a career-high six goals in a 23-10 loss to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles were down by just one midway the through first half, before nine straight Rams goals put the game out of reach.

Eryka Baez (Clifton, N.J.) scored two goals and had a team-high five draw controls. Graduate student
Mallorie Michalak (Meriden, Conn.) and sophomore
Meghan Diggett (East Islip, N.Y.) also chipped in one goal each. Diggett assisted on one goal and picked up four ground balls.
The Rams got on the board early as Emily Ray, the leading goal-scorer in the CACC, netted one just 19 seconds in. Michalak tied it up at the 27:39 mark of the first. After two more goals by Philadelphia, Kanavy scored her first of the game off a pass from Diggett to make the score 3-2 with 25:47 remaining in the half. She scored again at the 17:44 mark to pull the Eagles within one again at 4-3.
Philadelphia closed out the first half by scoring nine straight goals over the final 17:31 to take a 15-3 lead into the break. Ray netted four of her six goals during the stretch.
The Eagles got back on the board early in the second half with back-to-back goals that cut the deficit to 15-5. Baez scored her first at 28:21 and Kanavy netted her third with 26:42 remaining. Caribeth Shappell scored two straight for the Rams as they pulled ahead 18-6 at the 18:45 mark of the second half. Diggett netted a goal with 5:05 remaining and Kanavy followed up with the final Eagles goal at 3:42.
Post forced the Rams into 11 turnovers, two of which were caused by Diggett. The Eagles held a 17-15 in ground balls and had 16 draw controls on the day.
The Eagles return to action on Thursday, April 5 as they travel to face Chestnut Hill. First draw is scheduled for 4 p.m.
