ORANGEBURG, NY (April 5, 2011) Post University freshman Stephanie Marran scored seven goals adding one assist in the Eagles 18-12 conference loss against Dominican Tuesday afternoon. Goalkeeper Jackie Jolles had 16 saves on the day.
Marran continues to be explosive offensively scoring an unassisted goal in the opening two minutes of the game. Dominican responded with three straight goals before Marran scored two consecutive unassisted goals knotting the game at three with 25:59 to play in the first half.
Dominican's Brianna Blank responded just 24 seconds later putting the chargers up 4-3, before Meghan Diggett scored her seventh of the season to tie it up again at four.
The Eagles would take a 6-5 lead when Iliana Recarey scored her first goal and exploded into a foray of excitement on the Chargers Lacrosse Field as she received congratulations from her teammates.
Before the half ended, Katy Price scored her first of the game and thirteenth of the season, but Dominican would lead 10-7 heading into the break.
The Chargers scored two quick goals after the half followed by Diggett's second with an assist from Marran.
With just over six and a half minutes to play, Eagle senior Mallorie Michalak made the scoreboard move with her first of the afternoon. Marran would add three more before the game ended resulting in an 18-12 final.
Post University will return to competition on Saturday afternoon at Chestnut Hill College.
