WATERBURY, Conn (April 21, 2011) Post University Freshman Stephanie Marran scored her 50th goal of the season, but the Post University lacrosse team fell to Holy Family, 22-6, on Thursday afternoon at the University of Bridgeport's Purple Knights Field.

Marran finished with four goals on the day and ends the season with 52 in her freshman year to compliment 6 assists, and 93 draw controls.

It was also a special day for three-sport senior Mallorie Michalak, who competed in her last game as a Post University Eagle.

Michalak, who has been a key contributor on the Eagles' soccer, basketball, and lacrosse teams over the past four seasons, was honored with a pregame ceremony that included a heartfelt speech from Marran.

There were also signs, balloons, framed pictures, and a stuffed dinosaur waiting for Michalak as she stepped onto the field for the final time. Her teammates even went so far as to etch her beloved number 13 onto their ankles in magic marker in deference to their senior captain.

And with 16:00 left in her career, Michalak delivered, rifling a shot past Holy Family's Melissa Jenkins for the final tally of her illustrious time at Post University.

Holy Family was led by Lauren Greco and Jennifer James, who each scored 6 goals in the game.

Eagle net minder Jackie Jolles had 13 saves and ends the season with 207. Katy Price also netted one goal for Post and has tallied 17 this season.
