Michalak scores three, but lacrosse loses to Wilmington, 16-7

WATERBURY, Conn. (March 26, 2011)---Mallorie Michalak scored three goals, but Post University fell to Wilmington University, 16-7 Saturday afternoon at Pomperaug High.

The Eagles started out great again, taking a 1-0 lead after Stephanie Marran found the back of the net just over two minutes into the game.

Post University scored again just five minutes later, as Sara Cramer made it 2-2 with 23:21 to go.

Katy Price made the most of the ensuing draw control, racing upfield and beating Wilmington's Corrine Dries to make it 3-2 Eagles.

Danielle Nicoli led Wilmington with 4 goals and 2 assists. Rebecca Guetler added 3 goals for the Wildcats.

The Eagles return to action Sunday when they take on Monroe Community College in an exhibition game at Pomperaug High School. Game time is set for 12 pm.
