Women's Lacrosse Falls to Philadelphia 22-1

WATERBURY, Conn (March 14, 2010) Post University's Women's Lacrosse team lost their first conference game of the season against Philadelphia University on Sunday afternoon 22-1. The Eagles are now 0-2 on the season, while the Rams improve to 1-1.
Kaitlin Montgomery scored the lone goal for the Eagles in the second period on a free position attempt. Philadelphia's Taylor Boyle, Kalin Hodel, and Kathleen Maurer each netted four in the Ram's victory.
Philadelphia came out strong and controlled much of the play throughout the contest. The Rams would score 16 unanswered goals in the opening stanza, and would score three more before the Eagles responded.
Montgomery's goal would come at even strength after a Philadelphia foul putting her in free position on the eight meter arc. Montgomery would fire a shot past goalkeeper Katherine Sullivan with 19:25 to play in the game making it 19-1.
Philadelphia would hold on to score three more goals in the second half, earning a 22-1 victory.
Post University will be back in action again on Wednesday at Bentley.
