Reina Leads Men's Golf Pack in Team's Tie for Sixth Place at Trojan Invite

GOLDSBORO, N.C. -- After starting in 10th place after two rounds on Monday, Post University Men's Golf made a move up the standings at The Trojan Invitational in the final round on Tuesday morning, finishing in a tie for sixth place with Glenville State at 30-over-par, while 46th-ranked Lenoir Rhyne took the event with a one-under-par score, with Barton College finishing just behind them at four-over-par. Belmont Abbey's A Team rounded out the top three in the event with a 20-over-par finish.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
Freshman Luis Reina ended up finishing the highest among Post golfers at six-over-par in a tie for 12th place, moving up 23 spots following his two-under-par third round, while graduate student Joe Ensign closed at eight-over-par, tied for 16th place after a five-over-par finish to the event. Tying his best round of the event was freshman Gavin Giroux at two-over-par, giving himself a 12-over-par score, tying him for 32nd overall in the sixth-place tie for the Eagles.

Separated by just two strokes were freshman Phillip Granum and junior Braden Shea as Granum closed tied for 38th at 14-over-par following his two-over-par round, and Shea had his best round at three-over-par to snag a tie for 46th place at 16-over-par. The last of the golfers in the rotation for Post, junior Flo Schimek, finished 58th place at 20-over-par.

Among the four independents for the Eagles, freshman Dominic Giamei tied for 52nd at 18-over-par after an event-best four-over-par third round, followed by sophomore John O'Brien right behind him in a tie for 54th place at 19-over-par. Senior Nathan Leonard closed round three at six-over-par, tying for 62nd place at 26-over-par, while freshman Edward Grinvalsky was 55-over-par in 74th place.
