SOUTHWICK, Mass. -- Senior Nathan Leonard leads the way for Post University Men's Golf after day one of the AIC 1st Annual Yellow Jacket Invitational at The Ranch Golf Club in Southwick, Massachusetts, after shooting a two-over-par, finishing ninth overall, following the lone round of the day. The Eagles currently sit in second place overall as a team at 13-over-par, trailing only Assumption University by four strokes, who lead the event with one round to go at nine-over-par.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
Atop the standings sit several golfers as just five strokes separate first place from 27 other golfers, with Evan Rollins of Southern New Hampshire University leading the way, even with par. Rollins leads by just one stroke over his teammate Andrew Surprenant as well as six other golfers from Assumption, Saint Anselm College, Franklin Pierce University, and Dominican (N.Y.). Not far off their pace, either, is Leonard at two-over-par, just two strokes out of Rollins in first place, while following the Greyhounds and Eagles in the top three on the team side of the ladder, the Penmen are currently in third place at 140-over-par, one stroke behind Post.

The Ravens also sit close behind Southern New Hampshire and the Eagles at 15-over-par in fourth place, as first through fourth are separated by only six team strokes for the first-ever Yellow Jacket title. As for the rest of the Post golfers, freshman Phillip Granum is also tied with Leonard at two-over-par, with graduate student Joe Ensign right on his tail in a tied for 13th place at three-over-par. 

Post's final three golfers, who are playing for the team score, in juniors Braden Shea and Flo Schimek, along with freshman Luis Reina, are all tied for 17th place at four-over-par. Sophomore Brandon Frye, who is playing as an independent entry, currently sits in a tie for 48th place at 14-over-par heading into Thursday.
