Men's Soccer Ranked #15 in United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll

WATERBURY, Conn. -- Up from 16th in the final United Soccer Coaches Poll of last season, Post University Men's Soccer will remain nationally ranked heading into the 2025 season as the Eagles were tabbed at 15th in the nation in Tuesday afternoon's release of the organization's Preseason Poll.

Last season, Post has their ups and downs after starting the season 1-2-1 with back-to-back losses to Southern New Hampshire University, who are ranked 19th to start the year, and #1 Franklin Pierce University, who will enter the year in 12th, before turning it on down the stretch after holding a 3-3-3 record overall and 1-0-2 record in conference play. After their tie to Felician University, tabbed eighth in the nation to start the season, the Eagles closed the regular season with a 7-1-0 record to win their fourth consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Regular Season Championship.

Spurred on by an overtime win against Jefferson University in the CACC Quarterfinals, the Eagles overcame a 2-0 deficit in the CACC Semifinals against Wilmington University to advance to the CACC Championship, where they fell to the Golden Falcons, 1-0, but still qualified for the NCAA Tournament with an At-Large bid.

As the seventh seed in the East Region playing on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University, Post took down tenth-seeded University of the District of Columbia, 1-0, before avenging their early-season loss to the Penmen with a 7-6 victory in penalty kicks to make their third consecutive Round of 16.

Holding a 3-2 lead in the second half against sixth-seeded Felician, Post would be unable to hang on and eventually lose in penalty kicks, 5-4, ending the season with a 13-5-5 record and unbeaten in nine of their final 10 games of the year. The Eagles will welcome at least 12 new recruits for the upcoming season, which will be the 21st of Head Coach Ted Haley's career with the program.

Post University kicks off the 2025 campaign on September 4th against AIC at 4:00 PM as part of the Post University Kick Off Invitational taking place on September 4th and 6th at LaMoy Field.
