WATERBURY, Conn. -- Coming off of their second Team Academic Excellence Award in program history, Post University Men's Ice Hockey saw 29 players land on the Northeast-10's Spring Honor Roll out of a possible 31 players, while Post University Football tallied 28 honorees in Wednesday's release of the NE10 Spring Honor Roll. In all, 57 student-athletes were named to the list after a combined 79 made the fall edition, which was released back in February.
Like in the fall, 12 players were awarded the Academic Excellence mark after finishing the semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA with all of them coming from Men's Ice Hockey in seniors
Drew Blodgett,
Tommy Buis, and
Zach Richards, followed by juniors
Benjamin Cunneen,
Ryan O'Connell, and Nate McDeviitt, then six freshmen in
Aidan Canady,
Sam Edmands,
Jonathan Meijer,
Matthew Pacheco,
Eoin Reager, and
Scotty Swain.
Of the 28 players from Football, 16 of them earned Academic Distinction after netting a GPA between a 3.50 and a 3.99, while Men's Ice Hockey had 12 in that same category for a combined 28 honorees. In the Academic Honors category, which encompasses individuals with GPAs between 3.00 and 3.49, four players from the Men's Ice Hockey team achieved that mark, while the remaining 12 Football players combined to make it 16 total student-athletes in that honor.
As a team, Men's Ice Hockey finished the year with a 3.77 GPA while Football recorded a 2.80 GPA.
