WATERBURY, Conn. -- In an already historic season for Post University Women's Ice Hockey, another major mark in program history was made with the release of the New England Women's Hockey Alliance All-Academic Team highlighting all 24 players on the team as being part of it, the second time this has happened for the program and the most players in a single season to be named to the All-Academic Team as well. It is the second straight season in which the entire team has been named to the team, as all 22 players who were active for the entirety of the 2023-24 campaign made the team.
Of the 24 players, eight were named Student-Athletes of the Year on a list that featured 23 total student-athletes to achieve that mark. In order to be named to that squad, students had to maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout the entire academic year, which freshman forward
Rowyn Ringor, sophomore forward
Celena Mickevicius, freshman defenseman
Caryss Kehl, freshman goalie
Devyn Amundson, sophomore defenseman
Dani Ammons, junior forward
Tristan Currie, junior forward
Maddy Noonan, and senior defenseman
Angeline Pitter achieved. The Eagles had the most Student-Athletes of the Year, making up over a quarter of the list, and beating out their program record from the 2021-22 season in which they had five, while Long Island University, Sacred Heart University, Stonehill College, and Saint Michael's College all had three apiece.
Out of the eight teams in the NEWHA, Post had the third-most players on the All-Academic Team with 24, while Sacred Heart finished the year with 31 student-athletes on the team followed by LIU with 27 and then behind the Eagles were Stonehill (21), Saint Michael's (19), Franklin Pierce University (17), Assumption University (16), and Saint Anselm College (10).
