HOW IT HAPPENED
All afternoon, the offense would run through Vreeman for LIU, who had a hat trick in the game to close out a weekend in which she had three goals and two assists for a total of five points for the Sharks. After the senior opened up the game with her first of the day off of senior goalie Hannah Saunders, sophomore defenseman Caryss Kehl answered back with the game-tying goal just 2:09 later off of sophomore goalie Victoria Rutnik.

Rutnik, who ended up picking up her second win of the weekend against the Eagles, closed with 25 saves on 26 attempts in net. As for Kehl, her lone goal in the game brought her to a team-high two goals for the weekend, while she also tacked on an assist across the two games for a total of three points. Senior goalie Hannah Saunders got the start in net for Post. allowing four goals while making 20 saves, taking the loss in Saturday's game.

LIU's third-period blitz, after the game went into the frame tied at one all, saw Vreeman score a pair of goals along with sophomore forward Crosby Wildfong starting the scoring in the third, as she would be credited with the game-winning goal when all was set and done. Defensively, both teams held the other in check as the Sharks' penalty kill went a perfect 4-for-4, while Post's was 2-for-2 in the 4-1 win for LIU.
