Hannah Saunders Named All-NEWHA Second Team, Maddy Noonan Places on All-Sportswomanship Team

WINTHROP, Mass. -- For the second straight season, senior goalie Hannah Saunders was named to the New England Women's Hockey Alliance All-Conference Team, earning Second Team honors, while senior forward Maddy Noonan was named to the All-NEWHA Sportswomanship Team as announced by the league office on Thursday.

For Saunders, she closes a storied career with her Second Team honor, having collected numerous accolades throughout her junior year, which carried over into this season. The senior was two-time NEWHA Goalie of the Week and named to the Women's Hockey Commissioners Association Goalie of the Year Watch List for a second straight year. This season, Saunders finished with a 8-20-1 record in net, allowing 72 goals across 30 games played with a 2.49 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage with 894 saves and two shutouts. She closes as the all-time program leader in games played (90), games started (83), minutes played (4935:15), goals-against average (2.81), wins (24), saves (2,808), save percentage (.921), and consecutive shutouts (3). Saunders also holds all the season records for those same categories.

As for Noonan, she exits with an All-Sportswomanship Team nod having tied for the most games played in a single season, and tying for the fourth-most single-season assists with 10, while owning the career mark with 26 assists, and finishing third all-time in points with 40. Noonan played in 35 games this season with five goals and seven assists for 12 points, finishing her career with 126 games played for 14 goals, 26 assists, and 40 total points.
