WATERBURY, Conn. -- Keeping up the strong performance in the classroom, 23 student-athletes from Post University Women's Ice Hockey were named to the New England Women's Hockey Alliance All-Academic Team that was announced on Wednesday afternoon by the league office, along with a conference-tying six players getting named Student-Athlete of the Year.

In order to be named Student-Athlete of the Year, students had to maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout the entire academic year, which senior forward Tristan Currie, junior defenseman Emma Hoen, freshman forward Kai Hyatt, junior forward Celena Mickevicius, senior forward Maddy Noonan, and senior goalie Hannah Saunders all achieved. Last season, all 24 players were named to the NEWHA All-Academic Team, along with having eight Student-Athletes of the Year.
