Justin Rivera Named to NCBWA All-East Region Second Team for Baseball

WATERBURY, Conn. -- Senior third baseman Justin Rivera made his first-ever appearance on the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-East Region Team, getting named to the Second Team for Post University Baseball, as announced by the organization on Friday afternoon.

For Rivera, he becomes the eighth player in program history to be named to an All-Region Team both overall and since 2018 when Rosario Missiti was the first-ever Eagle to be named to the accolade as a First Teamer. The senior continues a stretch in which the Eagles have recorded an All-East Region recipient for the fourth consecutive year as since 2022, Post has had at least one player get named to the NCBWA All-East Region Teams.

Just under two weeks ago, Rivera was named to the CACC All-Conference First Team after closing his final season with a .360 batting average across 48 games played this season. The third baseman was tied for the team lead with 63 hits to go along with his 14 doubles, three home runs, and team-high 55 runs batted in throughout the 26-25 campaign for Post. Rivera's on-base percentage came in at .415 with a .491 slugging percentage and .906 OPS during a season in which he recorded his 150th collegiate hit between his time as an Eagle and with Bloomfield College. Rivera finishes his collegiate career with 194 total hits, 108 of which came at Post, while earning his first-ever All-Conference honor as a player and now his first All-Region honor as well.
