Evan Cornwell and Andrew Hartman Slated to Play in NEIBA All-Star Game Tonight in Worcester

WATERBURY, Conn. -- For the fifth straight year, Post University Baseball will send players to the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-Star Game as both graduate shortstop Evan Cornwell and graduate outfielder Andrew Hartman will play for Team Black Evoshield at Fitton Field in Worcester, Massachusetts, tonight at 6:00 PM, hosted by the Worcester Bravehearts and the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL).

Hartman had himself a big year coming off the injury that kept him out of all last season, appearing in 49 games, while starting in 48 of them to hit .347 with two home runs and 57 RBIs. Additionally, the graduate transfer had 60 hits in 173 at-bats with 38 runs scored, 16 doubles, five triples, and 25 walks to just 31 strikeouts. Both his mark of 57 RBIs and 16 doubles ranked him among the best in program history for a single season at second and tied for fourth, respectively. Hartman ranked eighth in the conference in hits, fourth in doubles, third in triples, and third in RBIs throughout the campaign, while additionally having a .532 slugging percentage and .445 on-base percentage.

As for Cornwell, he also returned from injury last season, finishing his career with Post having 190 hits in four seasons, coming just four short of setting the program record, which is held by Dan Luisi with 193 hits. The graduate student hit .302 in his final season with the team, playing and starting in 43 games while accumulating 45 hits with five doubles, four triples, and 32 RBIs. Cornwell also scored 35 times while walking 18 times and stealing five bases. In his career, he finished with 100 RBIs and 135 runs scored with a career .308 batting average in 178 games.
