MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Four golfers from Southern New Hampshire University top the leaderboard at the Penmen Season Finale, as Post University Men's Golf currently sits in a fourth-place tie with Assumption University's B Team after the first round at 11-over-par. Junior Miles Maresch and sophomore Flo Schimek sit tied with each other in eighth place as the top two golfers for the Eagles at one-over-par in the event taking place at Derryfield Country Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
Evan Rollins from the Penmen sits at the top in hopes of winning the individual title with a two-under-par first round, followed by his teammate Sean Dully with a one-over-par finish to place him second. Those two finishes, along with even par rounds from Sam Maurice and Andrew Surprenant, who are tied for third with three other golfers, led Southern New Hampshire to a first-place round at three-under-par with a seven-stroke lead over second-place Saint Anselm College. 

Dominican (N.Y.) closes out the top three finishing teams in third place at seven-over-par and behind both Post and Assumption's B Team in fourth is Assumption's A Team in sixth at 18-over-par. Beyond the one-over-par finishes for Maresch and Schimek, senior Joe Ensign and junior Nathan Leonard finished back-to-back as Ensign was tied for 20th at four-over-par and Leonard at five-over-par was tied for 22nd place.

Sophomore Braden Shea, who was entered as an independent golfer, closed at six-over-par in a tie for 24th, while freshman Brandon Frye tied for 33rd place at 11-over-par. Frye was one of the five players whose score counted towards the team score following his best collegiate finish at the Saint Anselm Spring Invitational at one-over-par.
