WATERBURY, Conn. -- For the first time in his Post University Men's Ice Hockey career, junior goalie Benjamin Cunneen was named to the Northeast-10 Winter Academic All-Conference Team as one of six recipients of the honor, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon. 

To be eligible for selection to the NE10 Academic All-Conference teams, a student-athlete must have met or exceeded the following minimum requirements:

• Started in at least half or played in at least two-thirds of the team's competitions as a significant contributor.
• Achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) or better on a 4.0 scale.

Players are selected based on the number of student-athletes on the playing surface at one time, which for Men's Ice Hockey is six student-athletes. 

Through his 2 1/2 semesters so far at Post, Cunneen has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while having a breakout year on the ice for the Eagles during their record-breaking season. The junior tied the single-season record for most wins in net with Brandon Brown after winning 10 games as part of his 10-8-0 record while putting together a 2.27 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage.

Cunneen appeared in 18 games, was a three-time NE10 Goalie of the Week, and his goals-against average as well as his save percentage were both the single-season records for the program.
