SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Senior
Joe Ensign got off to a hot start for Post University Men's Golf in the Charger Challenge at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, New York on Monday, leading the pack of competitors after round one at four-under-par. The Eagles as a team currently sit in fourth overall at eight-over-par while Adelphi University, for the second straight week they have competed in the same event as Post, leads with an even score.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ensign holds a narrow lead with one round to go, sitting one stroke up on Daniel Martensson from Felician University and top strokes ahead of Adelphi's Johnny Solari in third place. Solari helped lead the Panthers to their even score in first, which is followed by Martensson and the Golden Falcons in second place at four-over-par. Rounding out the top three was the host school in Dominican (N.Y.) with a six-over-par finish, while Franklin Pierce University sits in fifth at 16-over-par and Chestnut Hill College is in last place at 18-over-par with a round to go.
For the Eagles beyond Ensign, a trio of players finished in a tie for 15th place at four-over-par in sophomores
Braden Shea and
Flo Schimek as well as junior
Miles Maresch. Rounding out the six players for Post was junior
Nathan Leonard at the bottom of the pack, tied for 34th at 10-over-par and freshman
Brandon Frye in last place at 18-over-par, playing as an independent entry.
Round two will begin tomorrow, starting at 10:30 AM with the first Eagle golfer getting started at 11:30 AM in Frye while Ensign will be the last player to tee off at 12:20 PM.
