WATERBURY, Conn. -- Making her presence on the New England Women's Hockey Alliance Weekly Awards for the first time this season, sophomore defenseman Brooke Larsen earned her first NEWHA Honor Roll for Defensive Player of the Week while junior goalie Hannah Saunders garnered her fourth NEWHA Goalie of the Week honor for Post University Women's Ice Hockey as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Saunders dominated between the pipes for the Eagles, allowing just two goals in 120 minutes of action while making 64 saves against Sacred Heart University as Post split their final two regular season games. After making 37 stops in Friday's 2-1 loss, Saunders came back on Saturday with a 27-save shutout win against the Pioneers which was her program-best sixth of the year and ninth of her career as she moved to 9-14-3 in goal this year.

Larsen scored her first collegiate goal on Saturday for the Eagles during their 1-1-0 weekend split with Sacred Heart University. In her 66th career game, the sophomore accounted for the only goal of the affair, making it the game-winning goal as she beat senior goalie Carly Greene with the shot in the first period to help Post come away with a 1-0 regular-season finale win to take their third game of the season against the Pioneers.  

Post University travels to face two-seeded Franklin Pierce University this weekend in a best-of-three against the Ravens for the NEWHA Quarterfinals starting on Friday afternoon at 4:00 PM with Game 1.
