Ensign Places Top Three Again, Men's Golf Finishes Sixth Overall at Granite State Opener

CONCORD, N.H. – For the second straight week, senior Joe Ensign found himself vying for the invitational title, this time at the Granite State Opener hosted by Southern New Hampshire University this Monday and Tuesday. While as a team Post University Men's Golf would finish tied with St. Thomas Aquinas College for sixth overall with a 21-over-par finish and Southern New Hampshire took the event at one-under-par, Ensign found himself in the top three again, finishing third overall with a seven-under-par score.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Merrimack College's Nerraj Shetty would tie for first with Southern New Hampshire's Andrew Suprenant at 11-under-par while Ensign finished behind the pair at seven-under-par in third place. Sam Maurice of the Penmen was behind the top three with Adelphi's Mitchell Archer in a tie for fourth place.

Freshman Flo Schimek capped off his climb on the leaderboard, moving into a tie for 10th place with three other golfers to cap off the day after going even in round three. Schimek finished one-over-par for the entire three rounds, maintaining an even clip throughout the two days. Schimek would be followed by senior Amal Jha who tied for 37th place with three other golfers as well, going 11-over-par for the invitational but having his best round today with a two-over-par.

Rounding out the rest of the Post pack was sophomore Braden Shea with a 16-over-par overall and a five-over-par finish in round three to finish tied for 54th place. Junior Miles Maresch had his best round of the invitational with a six-over-par finish today which got him to 28-over-par overall and in 70th place.

WHAT'S NEXT  
Post University will be back in New Hampshire next week for another invitational hosted by Southern New Hampshire University, this time with it being the SNHU Penman Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
