Grace Glasrud Lands on NEWHA All-Sportswomanship Team for Post Women's Ice Hockey in NEWHA Season Awards

WATERBURY, Conn. -- As the New England Women's Hockey Alliance Tournament gets underway this evening for seventh-seeded Post University Women's Ice Hockey against second-seeded Saint Anselm College up north, the NEWHA released their end-of-season awards which saw senior goalie Grace Glasrud named to the All-Sportswomanship Team as announced by the league office on Friday afternoon.

A leader on and off the ice, Glasrud has had a storied three-year career for Post University which she will look to cap off by helping the Eagles make a run at the NEWHA Championship starting tonight in Game 1 at 7:00 PM in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Glasrud made her NCAA debut on October 16th, 2021 against Saint Michael's College in which she got her first win, 3-1. The senior is a two-time member of the NEWHA All-Academic Team and AHCA All-American Scholars while holding multiple on-ice records for the Eagles.

One of this year's team captains, Glasrud is the all-time single-season leader in games played at 26, games started at 21, and minutes played with 1,310:19 all achieved during the 2022-23 season. She also holds the single-season record for lowest goals against average at 3.51 from 2021-22 and is tied with Jenna Baumgartner and current sophomore goalie Hannah Saunders for most shutouts in a season with two -- Saunders tied that record this season while Glasrud set it in 2021-22 while Baumgartner did it first in the 2019-20 season.

Additionally, Glasrud is tied for all-time single-season wins with five from this season which ties Baumgartner's 2019-20 mark, has the most single-season saves at 767 in 2022-23 with a chance to break that record this weekend, and has the highest single-season save percentage at .922 in 2021-22.

But the accolades do not stop there for the captain as she as had multiple career records be set as she is now second all-time to Baumgartner (61 games) with 59 games played and with 19 starts this season she is now tied at 51 games started with Baumgartner for the all-time record. Following her start against Sacred Heart University last week, Glasrud became the all-time leader in minutes played as she now sits at 3,077:58 in her career and currently holds the all-time lowest goals-against average at 3.65 heading into the tournament.

Glasrud is also tied for the most shutouts in program history with Baumgartner, Kaitlyn Daly, and Saunders with three as well as has the second-most saves all-time with 1,904 in her career. To round it all out, she is also the program's all-time leader in save percentage with a .911 for her career.

This has been one of the best years of Glasrud's Post career, playing in 19 games and 1,101:26 minutes in which she has her lowest goals-against average at 3.05 and highest save percentage at .924 while tallying up a career-high five wins.
