WATERBURY, Conn. -- Post University Men's Soccer graduate defender
Felix Nassen was named to the D2CCA All-American Second Team on Tuesday afternoon by the organization, marking the program's 10th All-American honor in its history and the second by Nassen in the last two seasons.
Last season, Nassen became the third defender in program history along with Antoine Trifonov and Kevin Ipina to be named to a D2CCA All-American Team, but the first to do so in back-to-back seasons on one of the three teams and first to be named at least Second Team or better. Trifonov was named Third Team in 2022 while Ipina received Honorable Mentions and Third Team in both 2012 and 2013. Nassen is only the fifth player in program history to be on a D2CCA All-American Team with Joe Baccielo and Sergio Diaz being the other two recipients beyond the aforementioned Trifonov and Ipina.
Just over a week ago, Nassen became the first defender in program history to be named to the D2CCA All-East Region Team in back-to-back seasons, netting First Team honors again. During the regular season, Nassen was named CACC Defensive Player of the Week three times, earned two CACC Honor Rolls, and then academically received the Top XVII Award at the CACC Championship Banquet and was recently named to the CSC Academic All-District Team. Last season, Nassen received all those same accolades while also going on to be named D2CCA All-American Third Team, United Soccer Coaches' All-East Region First Team, and CACC All-Academic Team.
Nassen closed the season having played in 20 matches for the Eagles to the tune of 1,808 minutes. The Sweden native added two assists for two points this year and helped anchor the Post defense to 10 shutouts this year.
