WATERBURY, Conn. -- In the first set of NCAA Regional Rankings released by the committee this week, Post University Men's Soccer was one of 12 teams listed in consideration to host the NCAA DII Men's Soccer Championship Tournament. The committee announced the teams in alphabetical order on Wednesday afternoon in their first of three rankings in the weeks to come. Alongside the Eagles, fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference teams Caldwell University and Felician University were also under consideration.
For Post, they are currently riding a three-game winning streak that has them in first place with one conference match to go in the regular season and a CACC Quarterfinals home match locked up after their 3-0 win over Chestnut Hill College on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles are now 9-4-3 overall and 7-1-2 in conference play with the one loss coming against Caldwell in October on the road, 2-1.Â
On Wednesday afternoon, Post will close out the regular season with a matchup against the University of Bridgeport scheduled for 1:30 PM from LaMoy Field. The next set of regional rankings is set to come out on November 6th and then again on November 12th with both of them being listed in rank order.Â
The NCAA will announce the 40-team field for the 2024 Division II Men's Soccer Championship on Monday, November 18. Super-Region 1 will receive automatic qualifiers from the CACC, East Coast Conference, Mountain East Conference, Northeast 10 Conference, and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, plus five at-large berths.
