HOW IT HAPPENED
From start to finish, Ensign held the lead on the first day of the invite after shooting two-under-par to lead Bruno Pardo of Dominican (N.Y.) by one stroke and Kyle Puchol of Assumption University by two strokes. The senior went on to shoot one-over-par in round two, bringing his total score to one-under-par for the day while Pardo fell back into third at one-over-par and Alexander Lundvall from Dominican (N.Y.) pulled to even with par, just one stroke away from Ensign heading into the final round.
Outside of those three, Diego Ocasio of St. Thomas Aquinas College currently sits at five-over-par, six strokes off Ensign in the lead followed by his teammate Tanner Little and Puchol at six-over-par. But outside of Ensign, the rest of the Eagles would struggle as freshman
Brandon Frye, who was playing independently for Post, finished 21st with a 13-over-par after going for five-over-par and eight-over-par in his two rounds.
Sophomore
Flo Schimek was the next Eagle on the leaderboard way down in a tie for 41st at 20-over-par with a pair of matching 10-over-par rounds just ahead of senior
Amal Jha at 21-over-par after he went seven-over-par and 14-over-par on the day. Sophomore
Braden Shea and junior
