DJ Caron Named to NCBWA Preseason All-East Region Team

WATERBURY, Conn. -- In his final year with Post University Baseball, graduate outfielder DJ Caron will look to make some noise for the Eagles after coming off a record-breaking season that saw him set the program record for most at-bats (210) and most hits (77) in a season. On Tuesday afternoon, Caron was named to the 2024 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason All-East Region Team for outfielders.

The Branford, Connecticut native is the third Post player to make the preseason list, joining Robert Olah from last season and Rosario Missiti from the 2019 team as the other two players to make the NCBWA preseason team.

In a record-setting year for the Eagles which saw them win a program-best 36 games, Caron led the team in games played and started (52), at-bats (210), hits (77), triples (6), total bases (111), stolen bases (15), and tied for the lead in doubles (13). In total, Caron finished with a .367 batting average with 13 doubles, six triples, three home runs, 43 runs batted in, 14 walks, 15 stolen bases, a slugging percentage of .529, and an on-base percentage of .421 on the year.

Caron is only one of four total players from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference to make the Preseason All-East Team, joining Goldey-Beacom shortstop Braden Kolmansberger, starting pitcher Matt Warrington from Wilmington University, and relief pitcher Dom Grady from Wilmington University.
