CONCORD, N.H. -- For the first time in program history, Post University Men's Golf has won three consecutive invitationals after coming from behind to win the Penmen Invitational hosted by Southern New Hampshire University in Concord, New Hampshire. After trailing St. Thomas Aquinas by three strokes heading into the final round, the Eagles used a 13-over-par effort, the best of any team on Tuesday, to leapfrog the Spartans who finished 21-over-par in the round for the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a chaotic day one which saw numerous shuffling across the leaderboard for the teams towards the top, all remained relatively similar to the end of round two with the biggest jumps coming from Assumption moving from sixth place to a second-place tie with St. Thomas Aquinas at 33-over-par while Hartford and Adelphi traded places with one another, finishing three strokes apart.
Graduate student
Bill Koch narrowly missed taking home the individual title at the invite, finished four-over-par in the final round, giving him a 211 finish which was one-over-par on the course. That would open the door for senior Conor Byrne from Hartford to swoop in for the top place as Byrne finished even with par, making up the one stroke difference he had with Koch entering the day to win by three strokes. Koch would finish tied for second with senior Zach Stewart from Bentley.
Senior
Ethan Phillips was the next highest finisher for the Eagles, coming in tied for ninth with a seven-over-par for the invitational while senior
Jace Carlisle was tied for 19th, earning a five-over-par finish on Tuesday to pull him to 10-over-par over the course of the two days.
Senior
Ian Wivestad fell back a little bit overall following his three-over-par day yesterday, tallying eight-over-par to place him tied for 21st with an 11-over in the invite.
Rounding out the group for Post was junior
Amal Jha who made strides after an opening round that came in a nine-over-par with a four-over afternoon to finish 14-over-par for the Eagles while freshman
Braden Shea matched his round one effort of six-over-par after an 11-over-par round two, finishing tied for 60th place.
