Waterbury, CT – The Post University baseball team's quest for its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) title fell just short, losing 7-5 to Felician in the Championship game after winning the first game, 10-3 against the Golden Falcons.

The Eagles are now 36-17 and await to hear if their name will be called Sunday evening to see if they make their first NCAA East Regional
In the title game, Felician scored twice in each of the first two innings to take a 4-2 lead as the Eagles got an RBI double by Matt Goehrig in the first and an RBI groundout by Shane Lindemuth in the second.

After walks to Goehrig and Chris Corchado in the third, Keller singled up the middle to score Goehrig and Evan Cornwell singled to score Corchado, making it a 4-4 game.

However, in the top of the fifth, the Golden Falcons scored three runs, including a two-run double by Chris Fernandez, putting Felician up, 7-4.
Post's best chance to make a rally was in the bottom of the eighth as Cornwell singled before Lindemuth was hit by a pitch. Michael Pavelchak followed with an RBI single to make it a 7-5 game. Felician made a pitching change, putting Wilfrido Valenzuela into the game. He walked his first batter, Jimmy Brennan to load the bases with no outs. But it did not lead to anymore runs as Valenzuela struck out the next to batters and got a fly out to end the threat. In the ninth, Corchado led with a walk and was erased on a fielder's choice by Cornwell, who advanced to second on a wild pitch. However, Valenzuela struck out Lindemuth to end the game and give Felician its third CACC Championship.

Pavelchak was 1-for-3 with a run and RBI. Goehrig was 2-for-4 with a run and RBI. Cornwell was 3-for-5 with an RBI and  a run.

Dan Raglievich pitched 2.2 innings of relief, striking out two and allowing just two hits.

In game one, the Eagles used a six-run bottom of the eighth to pull away for the win. With the Eagles heading into the bottom of the inning leading, 4-1, Corchado walked to lead off the inning and was pinch ran for by Joseph Stasik IV. Cornwell followed with an RBI single.

Lindemuth was then hit by a pitch and Pavelchak singled, scoring Lindemuth and Cornwell, making it a 7-1 game. Brennan added an RBI single in the subsequent at bat and Goehrig put a cherry on top of the inning with a two-run homer, his third of the tournament.

Pavelchak was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Brennan was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Danny Gill was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Joe Christiana got the start, allowing just one earned run in 7.1 innings, striking out one. Felician was 2-for-15 with runners on base during the game.
