Waterbury, CT - Bill Koch was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year, head coach
Steve Sokol repeated as Coach of the Year and
Jace Carlisle and
Amal Jha were named to the All-CACC team as the conference announced their yearly awards on Thursday.
It is the second straight season the Eagles have claimed both awards as
Ethan Phillips took home the Player of the Year Award last season along with the first Coach of the Year award for Sokol.
This season, Koch finished with eight top ten finishes out of the Eagles ten tournaments this season. He finished second in the Post University Invitational at 2-under par. At the CACC Championship in October, he finished in third place at 11-over par, leading the Eagles to a third-place finish.
Koch finished tied for fifth at the Granite State Opener (-1), Ralph Haggert Memorial (-3) and most recently the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Preview (+3) where the Eagles finished fifth out of 25 teams. Koch also led the CACC in Adjusted Scoring vs. Par at 1.47.
Koch - who was also named to the All-CACC team for the second time - is the sixth Eagle to be named CACC Player of the Year.
For Sokol, in his tenth season at the helm, led the Eagles to eight top five finishes on the season, including second place at the 14-team Post Eagles Invitational and the Saint Anselm Hawks Invitational. In the CACC Tournament, the Eagles finished third for the second consecutive year. He also helped lead the Eagles to a fifth-place finish at the Atlantic/East Regional Preview on April 24-25.
Carlisle made the All-CACC for the first time. He tied for fifth of the Penmen Invitational with a 2-over par. At The Trojan, he finished tied for 12
th with a 6-over par and tied for sixth at the Saint Anselm Hawks Invitational at 7-over par and had an Adjusted Scoring vs. Par score of 4.80.
Jha made the All-CACC team for the first time in his career as well, tying with Carlisle for 12
th at The Trojan and finishing fifth at the Saint Anselm Hawks Invitational at 6-over par. He is the fifth ranked player in the CACC and his Adjusted Scoring vs. Par is 4.22.
It's the second straight season three Eagles have had three players on the All-CACC team
