Boston, Ma. – Post University freshman
Nick Weber was named a semifinalist for the 22nd Joe Concannon Award, presented annually to the best American-born NCAA Division II/III hockey player in New England. The semifinalists were announced by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston.
Weber was one of 33 players named as a semifinalist and one of just six named from the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10). He is also the first player from Post University to be named a semifinalist in program history and one of just two freshmen on the list.
Weber has had an outstanding first year so far for the Eagles with a school season-record 14 goals to go with 11 assists. His goals this season rank third in the NE10, and his 25 points rank fourth. He leads the Eagles in all three categories.
Weber has had many notable performances throughout the season including a hat trick and a school-record five points, in a 6-5 overtime win over Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) on January 20 where he scored the game-winning goal in overtime. Weber has one of just three hat tricks on the season in the NE10.
He also had a two-goal game against SNHU on November 11 and two assists the following day against the Penmen in a 4-3 win.
The Eagles wrap up its regular season at home on February 17 and 18 against Saint Michael's.
