WATERBURY, Conn. -- For the ninth time in program history and fifth straight season in which Post University Men's Soccer has competed, the Eagles saw one of their own make the D2CCA All-America Team as senior defender Felix Nassen was named to the Third Team as announced by the association this afternoon.

Nassen becomes just the third defender from Post to receive this honor through D2CCA with defender Antoine Trifonov being named Third Team last season and defender Kevin Ipina being an Honorable Mention (2012) and Third Team (2013). Also earning the honors was forward Joe Baccielo as Second Team (2012) and Third Team (2013), and then Sergio Diaz for three straight seasons from 2018-2021 (no competition in 2020) on the First Team. 

The Stockholm, Sweden native is only the fifth player in program history to be honored by D2CCA as an All-American after playing in 20 games this season and 1,457 minutes on the back line for the Eagles while recording one assist offensively. Nassen has received a plethora of honors over the last few weeks, being named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Year and All-Conference First Team, D2CCA All-East Region First Team, and CSC Academic All-District prior to being named an All-American. 

Nassen was a crucial part of an Eagle defense that let up just 15 goals across 21 games for a goals against average of just 0.71 goals while holding opponents to just 8.1 shots per game. Post also tallied 11 shutouts this season, which included setting the program record for most consecutive shutout victories with five, during a 13-2-6 campaign that saw them win the CACC for the fifth straight season and make the Round of 16 for the second straight season.
