Three From Men's Soccer Win Major CACC Awards, Six Make All-Conference Team

WATERBURY, Conn. -- For the fourth time in his illustrious 19-year career as the Post University Men's Soccer Head Coach, Ted Haley was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year on Tuesday morning by the league office. But he was not the only Eagle to net a major award as junior goalkeeper Soren Jensen was named Goalkeeper of the Year and senior defender Felix Nassan was the recipient of the Defensive Player of the Year honor.

Joining that trio would be four other Eagles on the CACC All-Conference First and Second teams with Nassen and Jensen making first team along with sophomore forward Aritz Uriate, junior defender Felipe Garcia, and graduate midfielder Nick Anagnostiadis. On the second team, it would be junior defender Omar Florindo garnering that honor.

The fourth Coach of the Year award for Ted Haley comes on the heels of one of the most impressive seasons in program history for the Eagles who lost just one match in the regular season, a 3-0 loss to #1 Franklin Pierce University at the beginning of the season. Since then, Post has not lost, going 10-1-5 in the regular season and finishing with their best record in program history for conference play at 9-0-2. They are now vying for their fifth straight CACC Tournament title this upcoming weekend with the semifinals and potentially finals on deck.

Soren Jensen's Goalkeeper of the Year award comes as no surprise as the junior garnered Second Team All-Conference last season with six shutouts and a 0.68 goals against average, following it up with seven regular season shutouts and allowing just 10 goals across 16 games and 1,350 minutes. Jensen now has 13 career shutouts, just one away from tying David Mollenthiel for third-most in program history, and was also listed as First Team All-Conference.

Quietly working his way to Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference, Felix Nassen appeared in 15 matches for a total of 1,348 minutes while tacking on an assist to his name. Nassen was an anchor on the defensive end for an Eagles team that allowed just 0.62 goals per game in the regular season and put together a program-record five-game shutout streak during the middle part of the season.

Joining Nassen on the First Team was Felipe Garcia who appeared in all 16 regular season matches and up to this point after the quarterfinals has played in 1,463 minutes while Omar Florindo qualified as Second Team All-Conference playing in all 16 regular season matches, accumulating 1,385 minutes up to this point, adding a goal, and assist on seven more Eagles goals.

Aritz Uriate's First Team honor comes after the forward scored 10 regular season goals and had one assist in 16 games, then added two more and an assist yesterday in the quarterfinals matchup against Goldey-Beacom College. Nick Anagnostiadis anchored the midfield for Post, tallying three goals and two assists so far throughout the campaign.
