WATERBURY, Conn. -- Continuing to rake in the accolades this fall, Post University Men's Soccer netted three players on the 2023 D2CCA All-East Region team as senior defender Felix Nassen was named First Team while sophomore forward Aritz Uriate and junior goalkeeper Soren Jensen took Second Team honors as announced by the Conference Commissioners Association this morning. This is the first time in which all three players have made the All-East Region list during their time at Post University.

For Nassen, the First Team accolade comes as no surprise after the senior was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team last week, was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Year, and made First Team All-Conference in the CACC. In the regular season, Nassen appeared in 15 matches for a total of 1,348 minutes while tacking on an assist to his name. Nassen was an anchor on the defensive end for an Eagles team that allowed just 0.62 goals per game in the regular season and put together a program-record five-game shutout streak during the middle part of the season. In two postseason matches since then, the defender has played 198 total minutes and the Eagle defense has allowed just one goal during that span.

After also making First Team All-Conference in the CACC and being named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, Uriate found his way onto the Second Team after a regular season to remember. Uriate accumulated 10 regular season goals and an assist across 16 matches and carried his momentum into the postseason where he added four more goals in the last four games. Uriate now has 14 goals and two assists on the year while totaling up 1,531 minutes. 

The same can be said about Jensen as well who was a First Team All-Conference recipient in the CACC as well as CSC Academic All-District Team nominee before getting put on the Second Team. The junior was the CACC Goalkeeper of the Year with seven regular season shutouts and allowed just 10 goals across 16 games and 1,350 minutes. Jensen has 15 career shutouts, surpassing David Mollenthiel for third-most in program history. During his postseason run, Jensen has let up just one goal in 335 minutes heading into the Round of 16.

Post University squares off against number one in the nation Franklin Pierce University on Thursday afternoon at 4:00 PM at Sodexo Field for a chance to go to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history.
