MIDDLEBURY, Conn. -- With one round remaining in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship at Watertown Golf Club, the margin for error was slim for Post University Men's Golf who held just a single stroke lead over defending champion Goldey-Beacom College entering play on Tuesday morning. While both teams would jockey for the top spot throughout the afternoon, the Eagles would be unable to stave off the Lightning, shooting a seven-over-par final round while Goldey-Beacom finished five-over-par to steal back the lead and take home their second straight CACC title by a stroke.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
However, graduate student
Bill Koch and junior Hunter McGee would be tied at three-under-par after 18 holes forcing them to go into a sudden death hole to decide who would take the individual title at the championship. For the first time this fall, it would be Koch closing the deal to take the individual championship over McGee, becoming the first Post golfer in program history to win that title at the CACC Championships.Â
After finishing the three rounds at even with par, senior
Ethan Phillips would earn recognition on the All-Tournament team alongside Koch. Phillips finished with a two-over-par on Tuesday after going even and two-under-par the day before, tying for third overall.
Senior
Ian Wivestad made up a stroke from his second round, going for one-over-par today to record a three-over-par finish in the two-day event to finish tied for sixth while senior
Jace Carlisle saw his score increase from the previous two rounds, finishing five-over-par on the afternoon, eight-over-par for the event, and tied for 10th overall.
Junior
Amal Jha rounded out the five golfers who competed for the Eagles, also seeing his score increase from the previous two rounds with a six-over-par day, 11-over-par event, and 15th overall finish.Â
