Post University first baseman
Robert Olah was named to the 2023 Preseason All East-Region First Team as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced its preseason predictions on Tuesday.
Â
Olah achieved All East-Region First Teams 1st baseman after an extremely successful 2022 season, in which he led the Eagles to clinch the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division regular season championship.
Â
The first baseman was given four postseason honors in the aftermath of the 2022 season. He was named to the All- CACC First Team, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association All-East Region First Team, the Division II Conference Commissioners' Association All-East Region Second Team, and the ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region Team.
Â
In the 2022 season Olah had a .382 average, 11 home runs, and a CACC record 76 RBI. He also led the conference and set Post Eagles program records with 73 hits and 129 total bases throughout the season.
Â
Olah had 22 multi-hit games on the season, 19 multi-RBI games, as well as seven games with two or more runs. The success throughout the season led the Eagles to the CACC Tournament, in which Olah hit a towering three-run home run in Post's first conference tournament game against Jefferson as the Eagles went to the CACC Championship game against Wilmington.
