Watertown, CT – The Post University men's golf team had four top ten finishers, while the team finished in third place with 56-over par 908 over three rounds in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship held at the par 71 Watertown Golf Club.
 
Post shot a final round of 27-over par 311 in the windy and rainy conditions. Goldey-Beacom won the title after the team shot a 45-over par 897. Wilmington followed just six strokes behind.
 
Leading the way for the Eagles was Bill Koch, who finished in a four-way tie for third with an 11-over 224 (74-73-77). Just behind him was Ethan Phillips, who shot a 13-over par 226 (75-75-76) and tied for seventh.
 
Koch tied for the lead in birdies in the tournament with ten. Phillips tied for the best par three scoring at 3.17.
 
Riley Card finished in ninth with a 16-over par 229 (76-73-80). Ian Wivestad finished in tenth with an 18-over par 231 (80-72-79). Card was the top scorer on par fives in the tournament with a 4.44 average. He also had eight birdies, fourth most of the field. Wivestad shot 1-under-par on par fives.
 
Jace Carlisle finished the tournament at 23-over par (79-78-79). Carlisle had six birdies during the tournament.
 
Mason Kucy of Goldey-Beacom was the medalist, shooting a 5-over par 218 (69-73-76), one stroke ahead Tyler Cleaves of Wilmington.
 
Prior to the tournament, Phillips was named the Top XVII Award winner for finishing with the highest GPA of those playing in the CACC Championship. He is the second straight Eagle to win the award. Felix Hinderthuer won it in 2021.
 
Up next, the Eagles host the Post Eagles Invitational on October 10-11 back at Watertown Golf Club for a 54-hole event.
