The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) on Thursday announced the dates and tournament structures for the 2021 winter and spring championships, which will be conducted over the course of the next three months. The announcement was made by CACC Commissioner Dan Mara after lengthy discussions were held amongst administrators throughout the conference over the last several months.
Â
The following is the breakdown of each sport's championship tournament and is listed in order of when they will be contested. While the dates and structures have been approved, they are subject to change based on how the COVID-19 pandemic evolves.
Â
Each tournament will feature games held at the highest seeds throughout. The women's T&F (Friday, May 14) and the men's T&F (Sunday, May 16) events will be held at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J. The announcement was made last week that the CACC will not conduct men's and women's cross country championships based on low sponsorship numbers for the sport this season.
Â
For the Spring 2021 season, Post University will participate in softball, baseball, men's and women's lacrosse and men's and women's outdoor track and field. The tournament schedule for those sports are as follows:
Â
2021 Softball Championship (May 5-10)
The softball tournament will feature its traditional eight teams qualifying for the postseason tournament. However, this spring's event will feature a single-elimination tournament instead of the traditional double-elimination format. All 14 CACC schools will be sponsoring the sport this spring.
