Watertown, Conn. – The Post University men's golf team sits in second place after the first two rounds of the Post Eagles Invitational on Monday at Watertown Golf Club.
The Eagles shot rounds of eight-over 292 and nine-over par 293 for a two-round score of 17-over par 585 on the par 71 course. They are ten strokes back of first place Southern New Hampshire, who is seven-over par after rounds of 290 and 285.
Leading the way for the Eagles was
Ian Wivestad who shot two rounds of one-over par 72. He is tied for fifth.
Ethan Phillips – who finished third in the CACC Championships last week shot a 72 and 73 in his two rounds and is tied for eighth.
Riley Card sits a stroke behind Phillips and is tied for tenth.
Bill Koch, tied for 29
th, is ten-over par.
Jace Carlisle, is 17-over par after rounds of 75 and 84.
Playing as individuals,
Felix Hinderthuer is 5-over par after rounds of 73 and 74 and is in 15
th place.
Amal Jha shot 11-over par with rounds of 77 and 76.
AJ Cavotta of Southern New Hampshire leads all players and is one-under par.
The Eagles lead all teams in birdies with 31. Koch leads all players in birdies with nine and is tied for the best par 5 scoring at four-under par. Wivestad had eight birdies between his two rounds. Hinderthuer is tied for third in pars with 25.
There will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday for the third and final round.
