Felix Hinderthuer (Mutterstadt, Germany) and senior
Michael Erickson (Prospect, Conn.) each finished tied for seventh as the Post University men's golf team improved 12 strokes in a fifth place finish at the Mike Bello Spring Invitational on Friday afternoon at Bellevue Country Club.
As a team, the Eagles shot a 52-over par 620. They shot a 304 in round two, and hopped up three places after beginning the day in eighth place. Laval University won the tournament with a 34-over par 602
Hinderthuer and Erickson each finished with a 10-over par 152. Erickson shot a 74 in the second round. Hinderthuer shot a 78.
Arthur Heinkele of Laval University was the medalist, shooting a 4-over par 146 (72-74).
Senior
Ben McKenna (Torrington, Conn.) finished just out of the top ten, tying for 11th as he shot an 11-over par 153 (78-75). A 14-over par 156 had junior
Anthony Guerrera (Watertown, Conn.), senior Antonio Lopez-Woodworth (Mexico City, Mexico) and freshman
Riley Card (Burlington, Ontario) all finish tied for 22nd. Card shot a 74 in the second round, eight strokes better than his first round. Freshman
Bill Koch (Ubstadt, Germany) rounded out the Eagles, shooting a 23-over par 165.
McKenna led the tournament in pars with 26.
Of note, Thanachai Sukklabsawan of Felician made a hole in one on the par-3 121 yard third hole.
Up next, the Eagles will play in the Assumption College Golf Invitational on April 13 and 14th in Sutton, Mass.
