SANTALUCES, Fla. - The Eagles started the day in search of their first win on their Florida Trip. They faced a familiar opponent, fellow CACC member Caldwell University. However, the result of the game would not count as a conference win for either team. 

Caldwell started off the scoring in the first inning by scoring three runs. 

Christian Alberti started the Eagles scoring with an RBI double as the second batter of the game. After Tyler Melko reached base on an error, Rosario Missiti came up to the dish with two men on. The count started 0-2, but Missiti stayed patient and took three straight balls to push the count full. Then, Missiti launched a three-run homer to right field to put the Eagles up 4-3 in the first inning. 

Caldwell would regain the lead in the top of the second after scoring two runs, making the score 5-4. 

In the bottom of the fifth, Evan Schaffner led off with with a single. Next, Tyler Melko brought him in with an RBI double to tie the game up at 5-5. Missiti followed Melko's RBI double with one of his own, and just like that the Eagles once again regained the lead. 

Missti added two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth with his second run-scoring double of the game. This time Miguel De Los Santos and Evan Schaffner both scored and the Eagles lead grew to 8-5

Michael Munson came on for the Eagles in the ninth inning to shut the door, striking out two of the three batters he faced while earning the save.
