NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore
Kendall Fitzgerald (Kamloops, British Columbia) of the Post University track and field team was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Female Track Athlete of the Year on Monday.
Fitzgerald was stellar for the Eagles all season and won the 1500m (4:50.01) and 5000m (18:37.46) at the CACC Championships, setting meet records in both events. She also finished third in the 800m (2:24.42). and holds the school record in all three events as well as the 4x400m relay.
Her best time in the 5000m of 17:32.83 at the Penn Relays led her to U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-East Region honors. The time was the second-fastest in the region this year and nearly two minutes faster than any other competitor in the CACC.
