Waterbury, Conn. – Anna Bonato,
Cecilia Spoldi and
Martina Stanchi of the Post University Women's Outdoor Track and Field team were named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II All-East Region Team.
Bonato made the All-East Region team in both the Discus and Hammer Throw. In the discus throw, she had a season-high throw of 38.12 meters in the Black and Gold Invitational, which she finished fourth. She also won the discus throw in the Mount Saint Mary's College Invitational with a throw of 35.3.8. She had four top-five finishes in the event this season. In the Hammer Throw, she had a season-high 48.44 meter when she won the Jim Barber and Jack Maloney Invitational on April 30. She also finished second in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with a throw of 46.86 meters and a third-place finish in the Wilton Wright Invitational with a throw of 43.43 throw.
Spoldi was named All-East Region in the 400 meters with a season-best 56.65 at the Aggie Classic in April. She finished second in the CACC Championships with a time of 57.63.
Stanchi - the CACC Female Track Athlete and Rookie of the Year – was named to the All-East Region in the 100 meters. She won the CACC Championship with a season-best 12.14. She also finished second place twice this season in the 100m: in the Black and Gold Invitational and the Mount Saint Mary's College Invite. She was also the CACC Champion in the 200m.
The three student-athletes were the first female student-athletes from Post to make the All-East Region team since
Kendall Fitzgerald in 2018.
