Box Score WINCHENDON, Mass. – The Post University women's ice hockey team fell to Franklin Pierce 10-1 on Saturday afternoon at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena in Winchendon, Mass.
The Eagles fell behind 2-0 in the first after two Ravens' goals in the first minute of the game. Freshman goaltender Danaée St-Germain (Metcalfe, Ontario) was able to keep Franklin Pierce off the board for the rest of the period as she made 16 of her 48 saves in the first.
Sophomore
Kendall Fitzgerald (Kamloops, British Columbia) cut the deficit to 2-1 at the 4:08 mark of the second as she received a centering pass from sophomore
Sierra Alarid (Cheyenne, Wyo.) and scored through the five hole for her second goal of the season.
Franklin Pierce put the game out of reach with four goals in the second and third periods.
Post returns to action on Wednesday in the first round of the New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Tournament against Sacred Heart. Puck drops at the Sports Center of Connecticut at 7:30 p.m.
