Waterbury, Conn. - Head Coach Peter Whitney and his men's ice hockey team head into 2019 looking to build on what has already been a promising season.
With 16 games remaining on the schedule (8 home and 8 away) and a 2-8 record, the Eagles have a great opportunity to earn one more win to tie a program record, or two wins to set a new mark for most wins in a season (4).
Leading the way through ten games this season in goals is sophomore Evan Lugo (Sandy Hook, Conn.) with five. Lugo shares the team lead in assists (5) with teammate Jake Raleigh (Raleigh, N.C.) and Noah Wild (Wading River, N.Y.). Lugo also leads the way in total points (10), but close behind is Anthony Giacomin (Drexel Hill, Pa.). Giacomin has eight total points, including four goals and four assists.
In goal, Brandon Brown has a save percentage of .918 and has one of the team's two wins this season. The other win belongs to Joseph McLeod, who is 1-2 overall in three starts.
The Eagles will play two consecutive home games, beginning on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 8:00 p.m. vs Wilkes University and Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 7:00 p.m. vs Saint Michael's College.
